The 3rd session of the Unitec Forum for the Future 2011 – Be the Change: Enriching Maori Entrepreneurship is available to view on Unitec's YouTube Channel. Here, I have embedded the first of this 7-part series so you can watch the Forum on Ka Pao (below)... the other parts should display as 'related videos' at the end of the initial video. For those of you on a mobile device, you can watch the videos on Mobile YouTube.
To make the most of Maori business opportunities, three fundamental challenges had to be be worked through: governance arrangements, property rights and mandates, and commercial value creation. As the focus for Maori in business changes from a reliance on land-based commercial activities into a broad range of commercial ventures, a Maori taskforce has engaged Business and Economic Research Ltd (BERL) to investigate benefits for Maori in pursuing innovation, research and development and technology activities.
Nice. And Unitec had another Forum for the Future in August. Topics for this year were 'old or young - whose world is it anyway?'(8 Aug) and 'local or global - which world do you want to live in?' ()15 Aug). All I could find on the Unitec site was this, it looks like it was a live-streaming event and there's not much left online. I'll take another look.
